Help Wanted: Apply Within

Wow 2018 was a bad year to be an executive director around here…

Prominent community organizations in both East Falls and Germantown seek new executive directors after theirs resigned this autumn.

In East Falls, Kathleen Hogan of East Falls Development Corporation dropped her letter after a contentious year juggling various interest groups while striving to reach the Board’s performance benchmarks and support new projects in Chestnut Hill, where she lives.

Over in Germantown, the executive director for the Special Services District, David Rose, submitted his resignation to a Board he often struggled to see eye to eye with throughout his 20 months of employment.

So now two new positions are opening in this area for community-minded candidates with broad skills, professional polish, and the ability to not give two flying fucks when people are mad at you (ha!).

We’re paraphrasing these job descriptions, of course  — with some spin from the peanut gallery. Read EFDC’s formal job posting here – deadline for applications is January 18th.  Salary to commensurate with education & experience, with ballpark salary range for this position around $55k – $60k/year (benefits negotiable). Questions?  Email EFDC at  efdcsearch@gmail.com.

To date, GSSD has not yet posted their job listing but will probably make an announcement at January 4th’s special board meeting (10am – 12pm). Contact interim director Jamar Kelly at info@GermantownSSD.com for more information.
