Ready for Your Close-Up

East Falls’ favorite photographer launches stylish studio in nearby Germantown.

We couldn’t be more excited for Caity MacLeod of “Captured By Caity” and also her wildly popular “East Falls Faces” profiles in the Local. She’s transformed 700 square feet in the Stenton Guild Arts Building into a warm, airy, vintage-inspired studio for portraits, headshots, and boudoir sessions.

The space includes a changing room with hair/make-up vanity, and a cozy lounging area. “Bring your mom, kid, or puppy – actually you MUST bring your puppy! – while you get your portrait taken,” she told us. Another nice touch: a craft beer and spirits bar. “It’s amazing what a bourbon or gin & tonic will do for a headshot,” she added, “It’s straight-up magic!”

Speaking of headshots, Caity frequently offers discounted “mini sessions” that are perfect for resumes, passports, online profiles and a million other occasions where it’s helpful to have a flattering recent photo. Her new studio is also rentable for other industry folks – and only about 3 miles from East Falls, about a 10 minute drive. The Stenton, by the way, is owned and operated by a Fallser! Ed Lampe lives on Osmond Street. And, fyi, is a huge community person and supporter of the Arts.
