Merry Christmas, East Falls!

Get into the Christmas Spirit with our highlight reel of neighborhood caroling with St. Bridget’s Teen Choir, plus a colorful slideshow of East Falls’ prettiest holiday light displays.

Last Tuesday, East Falls Local readers & contributors joined Elise Malizia, Joe Boyle, and St. Bridget’s Teen Choir for a relaxed yet rousing night of belting out favorite holiday tunes of all kinds.

About a dozen kids and a half dozen adults (give or take a few stragglers) spread Christmas cheer to friends, family, and complete strangers who flung open doors and even pulled over their cars for a listen.

Another touching moment: Mrs. Flynn signed along to O Come All Ye Faithful, in tribute to the five deaf children she raised in East Falls. The Flynn family has deep roots in St. Bridget’s parish, and performing for the senior sisters felt like an honor — as did singing alongside such talented teens, really.

But such fun, too! Thanks to all for rolling with our warbling, our fumbling for lyrics, our perhaps over-enthusiastic tambourine accompaniment. Thanks to Tom & Arlene of Epicure Cafe for keeping their beautiful tree lit for us to sing around, and passing out hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.

After almost two hours (!), we wound up at Cranky Joe’s for sandwiches and chicken fingers upstairs in their private room (which is really nice, by the way). Much later, the adults nightcapped downstairs with Sambuca shots and plans to do it all again next year.
