Historic Germantown “Stormwater Pioneer” ceremony

The city of Philadelphia will honor Historic Germantown as a “Stormwater Pioneer” for its stormwater management efforts and creation of community greenspace.  Join city officials, business leaders, and design specialists as they recognize Historic Germantown for its efforts.

WHAT: The City of Philadelphia honors Historic Germantown for its rehabilitation of an existing asphalt-covered courtyard and parking lot into a breathtaking community green space and rain garden with native trees, shrubs and landscaped terrain. The revitalized space is a showcase of how community groups can work with the Philadelphia Water Department to implement important, grant-supported stormwater management tools that protect our streams and drinking water.
